From Dead End Jobs To Dream Chasing
Picture this: me, stuck in a series of jobs that felt like they were slowly draining my soul, coming home exhausted to takeout dinners and wondering if this was really all there was to life. I had my business admin degree, marketing and social media experience, but something was missing - that spark, that sense of purpose that makes you jump out of bed excited for the day.
The turning point came when I realized my true calling wasn't climbing someone else's corporate ladder - it was helping other dreamers climb their own mountains.
I kept seeing incredible people with amazing ideas who just needed someone to believe in them and help their vision come to life visually. Every time I witnessed a brilliant soul being overlooked because their brand didn't reflect their magic, my heart whispered "you could change that."
So here I am, taking the biggest leap of my life - building The Pixel Nook from scratch with nothing but a laptop, a dream, and an unshakeable belief that every beautiful soul deserves design that makes them shine. It's just me in my cozy corner, but this little studio is where big dreams are going to get the love and attention they deserve.

You’ll find me most mornings with my coffee in hand, walking the trails near my home, watching the sunrise paint the sky while my mind quietly sorts through creative ideas. There’s something about those quiet moments in nature that fills my creative well — maybe it’s the prairie girl in me who grew up running through mud puddles and collecting wildflowers.
I come from a big Alberta family scattered across small towns — tradesmen with calloused hands and hearts of gold, homemakers who could stretch a dollar and still make magic happen, business owners who taught me that success means taking care of people. We’re the kind of family where everyone shows up when it matters, where love is expressed through actions more than words, and where you learn that life gives you both incredible gifts and heartbreaking losses.
I’ve walked through some valleys that tested everything I thought I knew about strength — health scares that reminded me how precious each day is, career disappointments that felt like dead ends but turned out to be detours toward something better. These days, I spend a lot of time homeschooling my nephew, which has been one of the most rewarding (and humbling) lessons in patience, purpose, and laughter. You’ll often catch me on my porch during thunderstorms, coffee growing cold as I watch the rain and remember that storms always pass, leaving everything cleaner and more beautiful.
My weekends? You’ll find me at the farmer’s market, chatting with vendors who’ve become friends, my arms full of fresh flowers and local honey. Or curled up with whatever rescue has claimed my couch that week — I’m a sucker for strays, both the four-legged kind and the creative souls who just need someone to believe in them. This is who I am when the laptop closes and the design work pauses — just a small-town girl who believes deeply in the power of genuine connection and beautiful things.
